Cappa Stone Wines
Cappa Stone Clare Valley Shiraz

2010 Clare Valley Shiraz

The History

The company is named after a mountain in a Calabrian mountain range in Southern Italy. In this mountain range their Italian grandparents fled for their lives in the war. It is a symbol of life, fulfilment and opportunity that they want to bring into this company and into the wines that are made for all to enjoy.

Winemaking/Viticulture

These grapes were harvested in the cool of the night from the vineyard once the fruit had reached it’s optimum flavour level. They were then crushed into a tank and cold soaked for 48 hours. The must was then fermented at temperatures between 22-25 degrees. The ferment was then pressed off skins once sugar dry and racked to barrel. The wine spent 15 months in French and American oak barrels.

Tasting Note

Our Clare Shiraz is rich in plums, blackberries and true Clare ink flavour that finishes with vanilla and dark roasted oak. The tannins are balanced and elegant. It has a length and depth in flavour that will not leave you disappointed.
